Edge AI & Computer Vision Intern
Adapt and deploy machine learning models directly onto resource-constrained MCUs for drones and autonomous edge platforms. Utilize STM32Cube.AI, TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers (TFLM), and Edge Impulse to compress, prune, and quantize (INT8) vision, acoustic, and IMU-based models. Responsibilities include building efficient C/C++ inference pipelines that fit within strict Flash/SRAM constraints, optimizing DCMI camera and sensor feeds, and enabling onboard intelligence such as visual landing target detection, acoustic fault analysis, and real-time vibration anomaly detection.

Write deterministic, mission-critical embedded firmware across diverse drone subsystems and companion embedded hardware (primarily ARM Cortex-M / STM32 architectures). Implement low-overhead drivers for ESCs (DShot/PWM), power management modules (BMS), payload actuators, and external sensor clusters. Responsibilities include architecting multi-threaded RTOS tasks, managing bus protocols (CAN/DroneCAN, I2C, SPI, UART), handling hardware interrupts, and conducting bench-level debugging with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.

Assist in architecting next-generation flight controllers that integrate core flight dynamics with on-board edge intelligence. Develop and tune PID/LQR loops, calibrate high-frequency IMUs, barometers, and magnetometers, and handle multi-sensor state estimation (EKF). Collaborate on deploying lightweight Edge AI decision-making models directly onto the flight controller board for intelligent fault tolerance, adaptive stability control under dynamic wind loads, and automated trajectory replanning.

Design, build, and optimize custom RF receiver modules and communication hardware to ensure seamless, low-latency telemetry between UAVs and ground systems. Work on decoding and packaging protocols like MAVLink, CRSF, and custom low-overhead binary packets. Responsibilities include interfacing RF front-ends (LoRa, sub-GHz/2.4GHz transceivers) over UART/SPI, optimizing buffer management and packet serialization, minimizing packet loss, and implementing robust signal-loss fail-safes and multi-node mesh/relay communication.
